Project Brighter Futures

Under the terms of our lease with the London Borough of Hounslow (“LBH”, “the Council”), the Charity is responsible for maintaining the building’s interior and the Council is responsible for maintaining its exterior (walls, windows and roofs).

In September 2025 the Charity signed a new long-term lease with LBH wherein the Council committed to fund and to execute a major refurbishment of the building’s exterior. The Charity named this Project Brighter Futures. It is an overdue investment in an important community asset and sends a positive message to all the young people who visit the centre.

The first phase of these works began on 20th July and completed on 4th September 2026. The second and final phase is scheduled during the same months in 2027.

Below are some photos showing the BEFORE and AFTER works were completed on two sides of the building in summer 2026.

The visual impact is clearly transformational. The more modern and welcoming look will help the Charity to license space to more users in the highly competitive Chiswick market. It should encourage more young people to attend our youth programme at the Centre. The new windows can be opened and closed more easily. The double paned windows will materially reduce the Charity’s winter gas central heating needs. The various repairs to the roof and guttering will also reduce unforeseen maintenance risks.

We thank the council for funding and managing this project and commend highly Greyline, the contractors who delivered the works safely and to the highest standards.
